Notes for MAXFIELD PARRISH
This is a miniature 1 INCH drawing rendered with a mechanical pencil holding 2mm graphite leads from 8H to 4B. The original inspiration for this one inch drawing was a painting by Maxfield Parrish. During this phase of my evolving technique I was interested to discover to what extent the 2mm leads would cooperate and to what size of miniatures the leads were capable of creating at. As with all the rest of my drawings, this work was done freehand with just the naked eye, no optical aids were used at all. There are various miniature societies here in the USA and the United Kingdom etc., none of which have any clue I exist. The roadblocks are perpetual to prevent the fine artist from ever being seen in public, especially one who surpasses the supposed Masters of these societies or one who embraces Freedom of Speech, such as myself. For example, the Royal Miniature Art Society of London requires 10 original miniature works to be sent to their competition all of which need to be accepted before consideration for entrance to their realm of miniature mastery. These mandates they require are perfectly okay for the training of poodles, but not for myself. For now I will go on creating technically superior works of miniature Art to any work they have ever possessed in the History of their Society, just as I have for the past 30 years and whether they know about my existence or not is of little concern. And also just FYI, to gain entrance to the International Art Fairs around the world, there are two levels of filtering mandated prior to potential entrance for the individual artist, first there is the filtering of the Artwork by a limited number of galleries around the World, then the gallery itself is pre-filtered by the International Fair Committee. This is why you end up with half-baked, half-assed artist wannabes, to a great extent, in these International Art Fairs which are closed to the works and abilities of individual real artists.
