Notes for Squared Senator
The original inspiration for this drawing was a stately gentleman who had his likeness taken in a sky light portrait studio in the 1850’s as an AMBROTYPE. This photo image was purchased by myself some 130 years later. This drawing was rendered at the time I was still amazed at the infinite detail possessed by the early imagery of the mid-1800’s, which, if you did not know, still surpasses the ability of nearly every digital camera in existence. The radiating lines are rendered with Gold Pilot ink pens, along with ballpoint pens. The grid you see on the drawing {on the face} is the original size of the grid I used in rendering this work.
